The masthead NME is in a bright red which immediately attracts the audience and its slightly covered which could suggest its a popular magazine but as its only slightly covered the audience may need to be reminded of them magazine name. The woman in the main image has control over the whole magazine as she is completely in the center the main focus that the audience wants to know about. She even has her arm around the masthead showing that she in control. Everything and everyone is placed around her, with the man draping himself at the side of her and her arm over her, this suggests a sex appeal in the magazine. The clothes that they are wearing are black leather which indicates they maybe rock 'n' roll as that's where that type of fashion came from. Mise en scene is show through the main image on the magazine, dark black clothes are worn by the band which shows a slight danger and fear towards the audience. The camera angle is above them as they are lying down but its not aiming right at them is more of a worms eye view as she appears to look down at the camera. The connotations of the colours used throughout the magazine including the colour of text and even the clothes are considered to be quite Gothic colours as they are very dark. There is a red bubble on the magazine front cover that tells that audience that it has an exclusive storyline inside. This attracts the audience instantly as its indicates this is the only magazine to have this storyline. You can also tell that this is true as they have pictures and they use quotations from the person who was in the interview.
